When Molly Smiles.
When the Summer fades and Autumn is near
My saddened heart often longs
For the days when life is new again
And the flowers sing new songs.
Suckin' honeysuckle. |
And I'm singing all the while.
For Spring is only moments away
In the wake of Molly's smile.
Life comes hard and fast at times
Molly helping a blind, elderly lady with a craft. |
And some days I am not my best.
I am not always the mother, the wife,
Matter nothing to this child.
And in my heart all my flaws
Melt away when Molly smiles.
I have yearned for so much more for her,
The world I'd give if I could.
I imagine my dreams will grow old with her
And more vast, in all likelihood.
But she never asks for moon sized gifts,
It simply isn't her style.
She only wants my love, my time,
And it shows when Molly smiles.
Oh, I love this girl with her shining eyes,
And I hope she can someday see
That I'll hold her hands, her laugh,
Her prayers, always inside of me.
But nothing could be more beautiful
Than the way my soul goes wild,
Since I willingly lost my stolen heart
To the brilliance in Molly's smile.
Love,
Mama
