The ADD Flit.....

As an artist with serious ADD, I get bored doing just one thing.  I know more artists than not who are the same.  And because I get bored, I tend to flit from thing to thing to thing.  Sometimes it pays off.  Sometimes it just flat out leads to a ridiculous amount of frustration.  And if you have ADD or (even more frustrating) love someone with ADD, you can understand the exasperation of the 'ADD flit'.

I'm a serious flitter.

But.......I've made peace with it.  I embrace it and use it as best I can to my advantage.  But, it still gets very frustrating at times.

I've been painting a lot lately....trying new things....trying new styles.  But after a couple of weeks I found myself losing steam and daydreaming about doing something else.  Seriously.....it's a miracle I've ever committed to anything.

So...I put the paintings away and started digging through my stash of fun supplies and.....WOOHOOOOOOO!  I found my polymer clay!

Hmmm.......what to do?  What to do?

I didn't want to commit (imagine that) to any large projects because, after all....I had committed myself (oh dear...there's that dirty word again) to getting some new paintings in my gallery.  I couldn't jump ship and then have 10 unfinished projects in my studio and nothing new in the gallery to show for it.  So.....jewelry!!

I decided to make some jewelry.  Jewelry that would make me smile.

I had so much fun with these little clay cuties.  So much fun, in fact, that I can't go back to painting.  Well....not yet.

I was pretty happy with my angel wing until Molly asked me if it was a slug.

I have to admit that this little hot air balloon left me feeling pretty happy with myself!

Now I have plans for some fun, clay wall hangings.  And, of course, Christmas is right around the corner and how fun would it be to make some ornaments??  Oh!  And earrings!  And rings!  Magnets!!!

Oh, boy.  The ADD flit strikes again!

Any of these little gems can be purchased at the gallery or online, www.sanctuaryofdavidson.com.  Just click on 'Kristen's Art' and then jewelry!
