When You Want To Have Fun.....

I'm always trying to find fun things the girls and I can do together  we would both enjoy.  Molly is generally the one I can talk into painting with me but since she was out with Kevin today, I went to Lilly.  Not that I don't love painting with my oldest.  She's much more inventive and creative than I am.  But very often I'll try to get her to paint with me and she'll just say, 'I'll come to your craft room, Mom.  But, I want to do my own thing.'  And that's what she does.

I had to finish some custom work for a friend of mine.....8 funky paintings.....and I was running out of ideas.  So.....I tried to entice Lilly to help.  Seriously....the kid is amazing with ideas.   So, I put the last of the 8 boards on the ground, gave her paint and said, 'Have at it'.

First we chose our colors.  Well.....really this was all we had!

Lilly was tentative at first......

Then she really got into it!!

We liked it, but decided it needed a little something.

We splashed water all over it, just to see what would happen.....

.....and then leaned it against the fence to see the streaky magic happen.  We declared it a success and left it to dry.

Lilly looks much cuter covered in paint than I do!

We had lot's of fun and Lilly indeed 'did her own thing'.....but she did a little of mine, too.  Always nice when you can 'wow' your kids a little with some Jackson Pollock pizazz.

AND NOW......(drumroll please!)

The winner of my cute, little Guy Stevens inspired painting is......

Diane Denton!!!  Congrats Diane!  I hope you enjoy!

And now a goodnight to all.  I must go wash my feet .
