Hello, Summer!

It's so stinkin' hot here! It's nearly 90 degrees outside already. I love living in NC but the only bad thing is that there is little to no spring. One day, 58 degrees then it's 90. Sigh....

But...on an up note....My sweet Lilly got chosen in a lottery to go to a school that is just perfect for her. There were about 450 children with only 38 spots available. The amazing thing is that her name was drawn from a hat. That's right. The school is a charter (public) which means every child has an equal chance to get in. Names go into a hat and then 38 are drawn out. Kevin and I have been praying for her to get in for months. Not just because it's a fantastic school, but because Lilly is an 'out of the box' child and this is an 'out of the box' school. Her name being drawn was nothing short of a miraculous answer to prayer and I'll stick by that belief til the day I die!! Oh, and that also means that Molly automatically gets in in 2 years. Yippy skippy!
Anyhoo.....here a few newbies. I listed a couple on etsy and will list more later. The mermaid is in the gallery (my show was very fun, by the way....thanks for all the well-wishes!) but I may trade it out soon and list it as well.

Congrats on your daughter's school. Your prayers were answered:)
I love all of your new work. It is all beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do when you get the round-robin journal:)

I liked living in NC too--I lived there when I was in college. We always had such lovely weather with blue skies. It's pretty hot here in D.C., and let's just say I'm so glad they finally turned on the air conditioning in my building, whew!

Your new pieces are wonderful! It looks like you've been quite busy. And congrats on your daughter getting into the school you were set on!
