More Angels....

Just a quickie tonight to let you all know I've got a couple of new paintings up on ebay. The first is 'Love One Another' and the second is a bigger one I call 'Love and Wisdom'. They are a much softer style than I usually paint in and I really enjoyed creating them. Have a looksie!
Goodnight all. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Feelin' the pain...

I read Jenn's post (noodleandlou.blogspot.com) and my heart totally went out to her. She just moved and is having a tough time. I'm with her. We moved 6 months ago and even thought it's only 30 minutes away, it is tough to not have that close knit group of gal pals right at your doorstep. Feels like life keeps going on without you (well, really it does) and your old stomping grounds miss you but get along without you just fine. That's good but really kinda sad. When you're 34, it's almost exhausting to start over. I LOVE where I live and I have wonderful friends here (that I knew before I got here) but after reading Jenn's post, I though....'wow, I'm not alone'.

So with that little 'woe is me'.......I'm back to painting my beloved Mermaids. Just got one finished. I know this is an absolutely HORRIBLE picture of it! This picture is pre-beeswax, which is actually on and drying right now. I'm always afraid to mail out beeswax paintings in the summer since it's so freakin' hot here in NC. But tomorrow we are officially in the 60's (woohoo!) so I'm back to the fun stuff.

This painting will be up for auction on ebay tomorrow night. I'm also adding 'Last Prayer in the Garden' to etsy tomorrow as well.

Goodnight!

Help for Special Needs Kids in Mexico....

Hey friends. As most of you know, I went to Mexico on a mission trip a couple of months ago and met just the most amazing children you'd ever want to meet. I did some work at an orphanage and fell in love with not only these sweet kids but the Mexican people as well. I wanted to do a Christmas project for the kids, like sending gifts and gently used clothing and toys down but my friend who works down there has told me that the kids actually do very well at Christmas due to support from a lot of different churches. But.....

She also told me that she has really gotten to know a lot of very needy special needs children in Reynosa. She helps run a school for deaf children and has met many other families whose children can't get the help they need due to the lack of programs for special needs children in Mexico. So she suggested doing a Christmas 'sponsership' for them. I would find as many sponsers as I can and she will match us with kids who need the most help. We will send down a shoebox (or more) full of as much as we can stuff it with, like toiletries, games, small toys, socks, candy and such. She will even send pictures of the kids and thier stories so we each know exactly who we are sponsering. I'm assuming we could even write letters to them.

I'm very excited about this and hope some of you will be, too.

So.....with all that being said.....any takers? Respond on this post or email me, darthkrissy@hotmail.com if you are interested. I think this is such a great thing. Being down in Reynosa for a week, I can't tell you the conditions most of these people live in. What a great thing we could do for these kids for Christmas. I think it would be something the kids and their families would not soon forget.

Join me!!
Thanks,
Krissy

I'm Baaaackkkk!

What a trip! We had the best time. I saw about a million museums and castles and drank a years worth of tea. Here's just a few pix of us in Merry Old England.
Kevin and me in front of the River Thames with Big Ben and Parliment in the background.
Having fun at Harrods.
And people really do buy these?

Not one move out of this jolly fellow.
But, anyhooo....the trip was fantastic and now I'm trying to get back to normal. Trying to get the kids back on schedule has been a nightmare after a week with MeMe. Oh, well!
Just a reminder that 'Last Prayer in Gethsemane' went up tonight as a 'best offer' auction. Also, I've had a lot of inquireries into 'The Deception'. That painting is on Etsy. Go have a looksie.

Cheers and Good night!
